Welcome To Chardham Yatra
Chardham Yatra 2013 starts with the opening of the gates of Sri Badrinath Dham in summer months every year. The abode of Hindu religion, the Himalayas, stands guard to the source of all the life in the country and the source of all the Divinity and spirituality. Situated in the state of Uttarakhand the Char Dhams are situated on the higher Himalayas well protected by the Mother Nature.
Covering all the Dham is one of the most tiring and spiritually fulfilling journeys through the dense forests, crowded towns and pristine environment leading to a sense of achievement and salvation. The Char Dham Yatra goes from west to east with the first Dham being the Yamunotri Dham : source of the Holy Yamuna river and the ending after paying obeisance to Sri Badri Vishal Jee at Badrinath.
The seat of the every deity opens up for pilgrims in the summer months with fixed date being provided by the chief priests of the temple. Prayers start at the Yamunotri temple first with Sri badrinath jee being the last temple to open for the pilgrim after which the yaatra begins.
Yamuntori Dham: This Dham is dedicated to mother Yamuna and is situated near the yamunotri glacier. The temple is accessible only on foot with a trek of around 7kms uphill from Jankichatti the last place accessible via vehicles. Devotees boil rice in the hot water springs situated within the temple premises which is considered as the Prasadam from the mother Yamuna.
Gangotri Dham: The seat and the source of the holy Ganga River Gangotri Dham is the next temple that is visited during the yatra. The temple is easily accessible via road and its route being one of the most scenic with snow capped Himalayas above and deep green gorges of the Gangotri national park below. Sighting a shy deer while on yatra is one of the most beautiful moments.
Kedarnath Dham: Considered as the most prestigious among the Panch Kedar temples, Kedarnath Dham is the seat of Lord Shiva. Among all the Dhams that Kedarnath is situated at the highest Altitude and the devotees are advised to take oxygen cylinders along to avoid breathing problems. This trek to the temple is most difficult among all the Dhams though recently Government has introduced Helicopter services for the Devotees making it most exciting Dhams with the Arial views of the Himalayas and we provide this Kedarnath helicopter service.
Badrinath Dham: Last of four Dhams the Badrinath Dham is the seat of Lord Vishnu and is among the most revered Dhams in Hindu Mythology. Surrounded by high Himalayas and snow capped Peaks Sri Badrinath jee temple is a one of the most beautiful of all the temples.
